I have to change my mind set....

I am thinking about making my blog name different. Obese and Pregnant. But saying that just makes me that much more angry. I know children are gifts from God and such a blessing. But for now, I am having a very hard time coping with the fact that I am pregnant. I know I dont need to be negative, but I have a lot goin on in my personal life, that makes me wonder if I'm truly ready for this. But like it or not its here.

I am not going to lie. I fell off the band wagon for the week. I still ate mostly heathy, but I only went to the gym once. I did go swimming and sledding with my daughter. But I have decided HERE AND NOW I cannot let myself go. Just cuz I have hit a bump in the road does NOT mean I have to stop being heathy. What else makes me mad is that I can't win this competition. I am a HUGE competitor and now knowing I can't win, my mindset is like why even try. I need to get out of that mode. I want to be heathy. And I know I can have it all. So why not be in the mind set that I can still lose weight, be heathy and be pregnant.....

I think one of the main reasons Im freakin out, is I am in Alaska. Away from family. My husband is deploying in June so here I am, stuck, doing it all alone... My husband was deployed when I had Madison, if it weren't for moving back home to Arizona with my parents and getting so much help from them and my sister, I dont know what I would have done... I was in Alaska last time too, but moved back with my parents. Now this time I will be up here, Alone...

I know it'll take time to let your current situation set in. If you work with your doctor I think you can still lose weight so it might not all be a total loss... and the less weight you put on with still being a healthy baby I heard the easier it is after the baby is here. Hang in there.

Ok girl I’m about to give you a BIG FAT REALITY CHECK… you ready? The 2nd month of my pregnancy I lost 14.1 lbs. * I had been working out and eating well and I continued it after I found out if was pregnant. If you were to do this it would be a 5.41% loss.... the last competition I was in the highest anyone finished with was 7.88%. First weigh in 3rd place was 5.27%, next 3rd place 4.93% and final 2nd place 4.62% at that rate you would have beaten EVERYONE OF THOSE GIRLS!!! So Maybe you can't win the overall of this competition but there is no reason what so ever that you can not place or take first just because you’re pregnant. You have weight to lose and you will not harm your baby with an excellent diet and exercise (watch your heart rate). In fact, you will hurt your baby more by not eating well, taking chances with gestational diabetes, toxemia, hypoglycemia or any one of the hundreds of other things that could go wrong from not eating well, not drinking water and not exercising. Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on this baby… it’s not the problem. It is just one more reason to get healthy and stay that way. :0)

You have so much on your plate! But Mindy is RIGHT.. you are not DQ'd from prizes because you are pregnant! :o) AND she is also right about eating right and light exercise. Talk to your provider.. but know that EATING HEALTHY is TOTALLY GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY!! ;o) If you happen to lose weight because of it.. so be it!

Mindy is right - my co-workers wife lost 30 lbs when she was pregnant because she was overweight. So it can be done!!! Keep motivated!!! You can do this!!!

Weight loss can happen during pregnancy. Hey even if your weight gain was zero you would be ahead. Make good choices and get moving and you should be fine.

I know how much it sucks being away from your family when your are pregnant. It is scary as f&*k. Try to find some people you can call and depend on - I would suggest looking maybe at other military wives or getting involved at your local church.
